What is IPv6?

IPv6 is short for "Internet Protocol Version 6". IPv6 is the Internet's next-generation protocol, designed to replace the current Internet Protocol, IP Version 4

IPv6 addresses are represented as hexadecimal digits with the groups being separated by colons, for example 2001:0DC8::1005:2F43:0BCD:FFFF. With a length of 128 bits, the IPv6 address space has 2128 address, providing a huge amount of addresses, serving about 340 billion billion billion billion equipments for Internet activities.
